SpeakUp Palmas

SpeakUp Palmas is a non-profit community that brings together people who want to practice spoken English in a friendly, fun and welcoming environment.

Founded in January 2025, the project runs monthly in-person meet-ups in Palmas – TO and, more recently, online events on Discord, so anyone can join from anywhere.

Mission​

Create oral confidence in English through collaborative activities and multicultural networking.

Goals​

  • Provide an inclusive, welcoming space for all fluency levels
  • Connect people with similar interests and encourage knowledge exchange
  • Host dynamic sessions (games, debates, role-plays) that make practice enjoyable for every participant

How it works​

  • In-person meet-ups: once a month in Palmas-TO (venue chosen by WhatsApp poll)
  • Online meet-ups: twice a month on Discord, with games, ice-breakers and open chat
  • Active community: WhatsApp group for daily exchange and a Discord server for online events and continuous interaction
